Is Kickstart Your Drumming worth your time?
I value you’re time, and I don’t want to waste it. Still, I think it’s worth spending some of it on this site if you want to make smarter decisions than I did in the early stages of my drumming career.
I bought drum sets only to find out that they no longer suited my purposes half a year later. I took lessons that I now know were a waste of time. Of course, there were many fun parts to my drumming journey (and there still are), but I could have done better.
Now, I want to help you avoid those mistakes. With the help of this site, I hope you won’t spend too much money on the wrong gear or too much time on the wrong lessons. I hope this site can help you kickstart your drumming right from the beginning.
That’s why I’ve done my best to provide you with high-quality reviews of drum sets (acoustic, electronic, and for your child), drum accessories (cajons, headphones, double bass pedals) and drum lessons. And every now and then I’ll weave in an article giving you a peek into the drumming lifestyle.
My drumming journey
I’m Ron, and I’ve been drumming for about 22 years now (please don’t be intimidated by this! Any person of any age can still embark on a most fantastic drumming journey).
I started at the age of 10 and I got to do some marvellous things since then. I took lessons with world-class drummers (one of them is Yannick that used to run this blog until not too long ago) and I played gigs in front of over a thousand people. Recently, my band signed with a large record label and our album will be distributed on Spotify, Amazon and all other major platforms.
But most importantly: I met amazing people along the way – many of which are now my friends.
Imagine you could do this too. In fact, you can do much more if you wish. Because I’m not a professional drummer (yet). I didn’t practice consistently for all those years and I didn’t go to music school. Drumming is my passion and it runs smoothly alongside my other pursuits.
So you can easily do this too. Or you can go far beyond it. If you just get the right gear and the right lessons in the first place, you’ll save tremendous amounts of time. And if you practice a bit harder than I did, then you’ll be in for true success.
